Detroit To Zambia—Bags and Barrels

Detroit To Zambia—Bags and Barrels

Dear friends,

The past seven days have been both encouraging and busy for us.

We have had several dear friends commit to supporting the ministry in Zambia—bringing us up to 19% of what we believe we need monthly to be effective in the work. Please take a minute right now to praise God for this—nearly every person who has committed to support us is someone we did not directly ask. What a joy to see God work in this way!

Rachel has started the hard work of packing—yes, we have bags and barrels already—only 18 weeks until liftoff. Our furniture is disappearing left and right, and our beds are all about to be on the floor. "$220 to buy barrels, $250 for our kids' table, chairs, and our dresser," Rachel said to me last night. She's a joy and a shrewd business-woman, and we thank God for Facebook Marketplace.

My work has been in reaching out to churches and friends to inform them of our ministry plans and ask them to participate in sending us. This weekend, we drove out to Columbus so that I could have a conversation with a pastor. Quick weekend trips are tiring, but we are grateful for the sweet fellowship we got to have with our family and Calvary Bible Church.

What is clear is that God is the one sustaining us and the one we rest in. Continue to pray for our eyes to be fixed on Him.

Jesus Over Everything,

Austin and Rachel
