Join The Hunt Family on Our Mission to Zambia

Austin and Rachel Hunt are poised and ready to answer a profound calling to Zambia, a journey that has been years in the making and deeply rooted in personal experience and spiritual conviction. Resurrection Church has been a significant part of our journey, and we are being sent with their blessing and support as we step into this new chapter of service and ministry.

Our Story

Both Austin and Rachel grew up as the children of foreign missionaries. Rachel spent most of her growing up years in France where her parents served. After moving to the USA, she achieved an undergraduate degree in biblical counseling in 2013, married Austin in 2016, and has been a member of Resurrection Church since it was planted in 2015. She is excited to both care for our two kids (Caspian and Adelaide) and disciple women one-on-one in Zambia.

Having grown up in Kitwe, Austin had a front row seat to the planting of healthy, indigenous churches in Zambia. He left Zambia in 2012 with a passion to return with the skillset to teach at Central Africa Baptist University and continue the church planting efforts in Zambia. During his ten years in the USA, he met Rachel, married, completed his undergrad in Computer Science, joined the Resurrection Church plant, and was called by Resurrection Church to serve as one of the elders. Most recently, he completed his M. Div. at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary (DBTS) and is now prepared to take the next step of faith to move back to Zambia.

Our Mission

Our mission in Zambia is threefold, reflecting a deep commitment to the spiritual growth and development of local churches:

  • Training Pastors at CABU. Austin will be teaching Bible courses at the University, accelerating the training of servant leaders in the African church for great commission living.
Our desire is to see a deeply rooted African church sending African church planters to spread the gospel across the continent.
  • Engaging in Local Church Ministry. We will actively participate in the life and ministry of a local church, using our spiritual gifts to serve and build up the body of Christ.
  • Supporting Church Planting Efforts. In partnership with local churches in Kitwe, we aim to be directly involved in planting new churches in Zambia and beyond, laying down spiritual roots for future generations.
