We've Arrived!
Friends,
I'm writing you to tell you that we have arrived in Kitwe. Our journey started on Tuesday the 25th and ended on Friday the 28th. When we missed our second flight due to delays, I told Rachel, "This is not the worst thing that will happen to us in our ministry." Every time things do not go the way we desire, God has created an opportunity for us to rely on his Spirit to endure. This time was no different. In London, we re-booked tickets a second time; we spent the night in Johannesburg on Thursday and arrived in Zambia on Friday afternoon. We're tired, but grateful. God has sustained us.
We spent Saturday getting some much needed rest, and this Sunday had the privilege of worshiping with God's people at Kitwe Church. We worship the same Lord, we have the same gospel, and we share the same Spirit. What a joy to pray and praise with the church in Zambia.
For the next couple weeks, we will be spending time to get the normal things of life set up. Pray for us as we work to get driver's licenses, immigration status, internet, cell phones, and things unpacked. Our aim is to as quickly as possible be settled into our new place. As soon as possible, we want to begin integrating into our new church and preparing to teach at CABU unhindered by distractions.
Praise God for his many kindnesses in getting us here! All our bags arrived with us. We are joyful, and we have already been shown tons of kindness by the church here in Kitwe. Our freezer is full of meals, and many have told us to let them know how they can serve us.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Spirit (Rom. 15:13).
Jesus Over Everything,
Austin & Rachel
