Zambia on our Hearts

A few weeks ago we asked you to pray—

God answered your prayers. We traveled safely without any complications with Rachel and the baby. The trip was smooth without any delays or lost bags. God also allowed us to quickly get the documentation we needed to continue to live in Zambia.

It was a joy to be back in Zambia albeit briefly. We were excited to see friends, family, and some of our brothers and sisters at Kitwe Church.

We also had the opportunity to update leadership of CABU on our plans. They anticipate our return so that I (Austin) can resume teaching in January.

Please continue to pray that we can raise the remainder of our partnerships. The leadership of CABU asked us to update them on our status by the end of November so that they can adequately plan for the 2027 school year.

Being back on campus offered many reminders why we moved to Zambia in the first place. We met a Zambian deaf student (the first picture above) is training in the Bible degree program. He told us that his goal is to be sent by a church to reach the deaf outside of Zambia. Another student (the second picture above) from Kenya is also in the Bible program hoping to return and pastor in his home country.

Rachel and I also had the joy of celebrating our 10 year anniversary by taking a few days away. We were able to take some time to rest, reflect, and thank God for how he has sustained us in our marriage. It has been a true privilege to walk through life with Rachel.

Also, the kids were thrilled to have us back. Much thanks to the Lord for Rachel's parents watching them for 12 days.
